Hey! I just got back from Hawaii for spring break so I wasn't able to work on it since I didn't have a computer. As of right now it has reverse foot lock, and I'm currently working on finishing the iks/fks. But I have set aside tomorrow (saturday) to work on it, so I'll be able to give you an update Sunday. I saw the pics on the blog, that helped alot! Thank you! I hope you have a wonderful Spring Break as well, and don't work too hard!

Hey Cassandra,

How are you doing? Just wanted to know the progress of the rig. Do you need any new information or pictures to help you set up the rig? If you want ill take screen shots of some controls that i like from other rigs that i have worked on.

I just posted an update to the blog, can you post yet? I'm sending you my joint placements for the rig, it took longer than I thought since it's in an A pose, but in theory it should come out better than a Tpose rig. It's not bind yet to the joints, I want to take another look at it tomorrow after I take a break from it before I bind it. I'll be doing reverse foot lock Wednesday unless you see any issues with the joints. Also send me a prioritize list please.

For todd there is no story. I'm just helping you rig the model and maybe do a simple walk cycle. The Blog is clean and I like it. Can you add me to the author's on the blog so I can post and give feedback? Is there also a way to send me the updated rig so that i can play around with it and see if the rig is working smoothly?

Hey I sent you a link to the blog I created via this email. If you need me to send it to a different email let me know. Our blog link is http://toddgambino.blogspot.com/ . For Todd Gambino, do you have a storyboard or know what he's going to do?

Todd is a separate animation. The green ninja project is for our advance 2d animation class. I was talking to my teacher today and I believe that this project wont be able to do any facial controls but if we have time we can do basic stuff. My teacher also said that the Texas students will set up individual blogs to post progress. If u don't have one i can set one up on my account. Here is the basic rigging that I put together.

Hands:
1. IK hands

2. Finger curls
    -curl all finger
    -curl individual finger
    -thumb curl
    -finger spread
    -mid fingers spread(middle and ring)
    -thumb spread

3. IK feet
    - knee pivot control (translation only)
       - parent to world, feet, and hips

SEE Pictures*
    - Foot roll
    - ball roll
    - toe toll
    - heel pivot
    - ball pivot
    - toe pivot

4. FK spine

5. FK Neck

6. IK Head

Sweet I got the rig. Tod Gambino is a separate animation from green ninja right? Please send me a list asap on what you would need! For now, I'll just be doing the general walk cycle and span movements.

thanks!

our green ninja project is a class project that will be done in 2d with maybe 3d special effects(if they can figure it out). we have about 25 people, 10 viz dev and 15 animators. our goal is to finish it by the end of the semester. :) for the rig i believe that it would be on your server. our rig that we will be working on is called Todd Gambino. i havent checked it out but ill send u a list of what i would want on the rig.

No problem! I hope you are feeling better! Awesome animation! If I understand correctly, this is going to be a continuation of the series? If so, would it be in 2D style? Is everybody doing their own version of a green ninja animation, or is the whole class working on one story? Our TA mentioned today that the models were already sent to him, but our prof wasn't in today so it was a little unclear. Did your instructor say anything in class about it?

Sorry for the late reply i have been sick for the past few days.
Wow i like the work you have up on your vimeo. my teacher still has to give us info on the model and that wont be til tuesday so ill update you on that when it comes around. For the Green Ninja animation the story is about Larry leafblower who gets a supercharged leafblower and tries it out. However it is so powerful that he looses control and starts to pollute and create havoc in the neighborhood. Green ninja comes to the rescue and fixes all the problems that larry created. It is going to be dialogue heavy and most of the animators hasn't touched dialogue in their animation yet. Here is the animation the class did last year. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UeYOZgbgG1Q Green Ninja: Carbon Footprint. Enjoy!

Howdy! This is my first time partnering with someone from another university, I'm looking forward to the experience! I'm a graduate student in the Viz department and I've been working with Maya on and off for about 7 years (luckily high school taught it), and I come from a film/photography background. I don't have a website yet, but you can find some of my videos here: http://www.vimeo.com/cassiehanks and photography/flatwork here: http://facebook.com/cassie.hanks . I'm periodically on chat there, otherwise this email is the best way to reach me. I don't have skype, but if needed I can get it as well.
As for the model, is it ready to send over? What's the story on your animation you are working on?

thanks,
Cassie

Hi Cassie,

I'm Alex Yip and I will be helping you out this semester. I have been doing both 2D and 3D animation for about 3 years now and I see that this will be a great opportunity for both of us. From the description in class I will be giving you feedback on your character rig throughout this semester. So lets make it awesome! I'm excited to work in partner with Texas A&M University and I can't wait to start. You can stop by my website at www.alexyip.me and check out some of my work. Reach me through this email or skype at alex.yip56. I hope to here from you soon. Thanks.
